Why Brigrads exists

Brigrads was founded in Chennai in May 2026, and we are deliberately not a typical agency. We have sat with the families this industry too often fails: parents who set aside years of savings for one child's education, only to face agency charges they never saw coming, shortlists quietly shaped by whoever paid the agent best, and a process so opaque they signed papers they never fully understood. A student's future is too important to be sold that way. So we built the opposite — a specialised guide that walks beside each student, shows them honestly where they stand and why a path is right for them, and publishes every fee on the website before a family pays a single rupee.

Our founder

Barrington Dcosta has spent his working life in a field where accuracy protects people. Since February 2000 he has worked in United States medical billing, and in December 2012 he founded Shandray MD Solutions, his own medical-billing practice — grown from scratch into a firm trusted with some of the most sensitive information that exists: American patient records governed by HIPAA, where data breaches carry real consequences for real people. In 2022 he founded a second company under his own name — Barrington Dcosta — spanning both medical billing and software development, and bringing that same exactness into purpose-built technology. More than two decades of this work leave two instincts that now define Brigrads — get the details right the first time, and treat other people's data as sacred.

The turn toward education was personal. Watching bright, hard-working students derailed by wrong documents, missed deadlines and advice that served the adviser rather than the applicant, he felt what any parent would — that these families deserved someone genuinely in their corner. Brigrads is his answer: built on the software engineering capability developed at Barrington Dcosta, his software and medical-billing firm, through years of exacting compliance work — now turned toward a single goal, helping each student reach theirs. Every student file at Brigrads is handled with the same care as a medical record, and every recommendation is one he would be comfortable giving his own family.

How we work

We call our approach Global Scholars Navigators. Every student starts free — a genuine eligibility analysis, best-fit destinations and a real university shortlist, at no cost. Those who want the full toolkit move to our Self-Service plan: document vault, country-specific checklists, auto-prepared drafts, application tracking and a dedicated counsellor. Families who want us alongside them further take Assisted or End-to-End support, priced individually and openly. We serve study in India and abroad — undergraduate, postgraduate, PhD, MBA and diploma — and an eligible-student scholarship plan keeps the full toolkit within reach of families who could not otherwise afford it.

Fairness by design. E-signed service agreements, a published complaints process, an anti-bribery code with recorded staff training, and a 365-day plan validity stated before payment.

Ethics & accountability

Our conduct framework is published, not promised: an Anti-Bribery & Corruption Policy with electronically recorded staff training, a Student Complaints process with stated response times, a service agreement every student e-signs before using the platform, and plain-English Terms and Privacy pages. Our code of conduct for international recruitment is informed by the London Statement principles, and universities are welcome to request our vetting process and training records as part of their due diligence.
